DescriptionEleven young women from a women's football team pose with a ball in front of Hodgin Hall on the University of New Mexico campus in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The building is brick with many windows. One woman kneels behind the ball at the center and eight others hold onto her shoulders in a V-shape orientation. A young woman squats in the back left corner with her hands toward the group. There is one more woman behind the kneeling woman. All the young women have their hair pulled back in chignon buns with their front hair lightly curled or in short cropped bangs. They all wear long, shin length skirts, long sleeved jackets or tops with gigot puffed sleeves and frilled or bowed rounded necklines. Most of their outfits are patterned with plaids, floral prints, or striped trims. A few wear unpatterned, dark suits. The UNM Women's Football Team at the turn of the century was called The Gladiators.
