DescriptionA family of four is gathered at the Cobb Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a group portrait. One adult sits while another stands behind, with two children gathered around. There is a painted backdrop behind them along with a fabric covered table to the side, tassels dangling. Atop the table is a large, leather bound, hard covered book. The standing figure's left-hand rests on top of it. He wears a single-breasted, three-piece suit with a starched white collar and tie. His hair is parted and he has a thick mustache. Two young children in lacey, light colored dresses with dark sashes, stand on either side of a seated adult. The children have matching hairdos; straight cropped bangs with short curled hair parted down the middle. The figure wears a dark princess line dress with large, gigot puffed sleeves. The dress is heavily pleated and embellished with velvets and a brooch at the base of the high neckline.
Emulsion flaking is occurring on the glass plate causing distortion and emulsion loss.
