DescriptionThe exterior of Hodgin Hall at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico with a group of female students sitting on its door steps. The building is brick and stone with a dark door set into the entry. In the front row sits Mabel Booth Wheleman, Henner Sheets, Ms. Stover, and Ms. Hazeldine. In the back row sits Ms. Bauer, Gertrude Leekly, Ms. Laskey, Ms. Bertha Zelle Bliss, Stella Walker Walter, Nora Stern, and Ms. Stamm.

The young women all hold an opened book on their laps. All but one has hair pulled back into a chignon bun and have short horizontal bangs, some of which are curled. One has short hair, shaved close to her head and sits second left in the front, possible Henner Sheets. She looks directly at the camera with a blank, heavy expression. She wears, like the rest, a long-sleeved dress with gigot puffed sleeves and a long skirt. The necklines very, but all are highly decorated with bows, frills, trimmed collars or lace.

The girl siting third to the left in the back row (possibly Ms. Laskey) has her left arm draped over Bertha Zelle Bliss's shoulder.
