She is standing in front of a hand-painted backdrop in the Cobb Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her dark hair is center-parted and styled around her face. She has a button-down light-colored dress shirt with a wide triangular collar, large satin bowtie, and minimally pleated, long ankle length shirt. She is looking toward the camera.

Ethel McClaskey was an Albuquerque community member who performed in local musical recitals from singing to piano recitals and composed some of her own music in her youth between 1907-1912.

Emulsion deterioration and scratches are occurring on the glass plate causing emulsion loss.
