DescriptionA high school graduation portrait of Ethel McClaskey and Daphne Cobb at the Cobb Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They wear matching outfits of light colored dresses with large satin bows at the base of the V-shaped neckline, buttons done the pleated bodice, collars that extend into flaps behind the back, and long skirts with a high waistline. Their hair is parted down the center, finger curled, and pulled back into chignon buns. They hold each other’s hands, Daphne's left in Ethel's left; Daphne's right in Ethel's right, creating an interlaced, crisscrossing effect with their hands and arms. Ethel looks at the camera while Daphne looks off to the side. Both young women are slightly tilted towards one another. Daphne Cobb was the third of Eddie Ross Cobb and William Cobb's four children. They owned a local photography studio spanning the turn of the nineteenth century on Gold Avenue in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico. Daphne never married and died at the age of 29 of tuberculosis. Daphne was also a grand-daughter of the Governor Edmund G. Ross.
