DescriptionThis cash register was produced by the National Cash Register Company in 1938 and was used at the Little House Cafe in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Little House Cafe was a Valentine diner, which were small mobile diners that could be purchased pre-furnished. It was originally stationed right on Route 66 in 1942. The cash register sits within a black metal shell, with multiple papers featuring motivational slogans taped to its side. Two rows of pricing buttons occupy the center of the machine, sitting above a change drawer. Two glass windows are housed on top, displaying the inputted prices on both the customer's side and the sales associate's side.
