DescriptionThis is a decorative beer stein with many embellishments and engravings. The stein is shaped like pitcher, with a body that is wider than both the top and the bottom, it also has a curved semi-circle handle on the side and a domed lid. The handle is normally connected to the lid via a metal hinge that has a decorative thumb press on top, however on this stein the hinge has been broken where it connects to the lid. The handle is a light-brown color and the press is made of silver metal, and has decorative floral engravings within it. The lid is also made of silver metal with three tiers forming a pointed dome. Each tier decorative swirl engravings etched around the outside edge. The back has a piece missing where the hinge connected, and the rim has been dented and warped so it does not fit perfectly over the rim of the cup. The rim of the cup is the same brown color of the handle, has is the very bottom of the base. Below the rim is a grey border with a scale-like pattern within. The lower body of the stein has this same border, along with a white section with grey ovals patterned inside, and a dark red border underneath, just above the bottom base. The main body of the stein is made of an image that wraps around the entirety of the middle section. The image has a white background that is textured to look like a mosaic. On top of this is a decorative green design of leaves and vines that overlap and intertwine with each other around the cup. Underneath the stein is a makers mark for Hauber and Reuther, and the product number 241.
