DescriptionThis metal campaign button features the base colors of red, white, and blue, with a red stripe on the top portion, a thicker white stripe inthe center, and a blue stripe on the bottom. In the center reads "STEVENSON / AND / KEFAUVER" in large, eye-catching blue lettering. Adlai Stevenson II (1900-1965) and Estes Kefauver (1903-1963) were democratic running mates, and campaigned in 1960 only to face defeat by opponent John F. Kennedy. Despite their defeat on several occasions, Stevenson and Kefauver played a positive role in the development of education, supporting aspects such as graunteeing raised salaries for teachers, and was inspired by educatoinal materials in the U.S.On View
