DescriptionThis object is a cauterization tool used to burn away infected tissue or seal wounds. The object has two electrical prongs at its base where a source of power is affixed, allowing the tip of the object, which is made of a much thinner metal, to heat rapidly. The tip joins the two shanks of the objects together in a tight bend, allowing for precise burns. A plastic hinge is located above the electrical prongs at the base, with the manufacturer's mark "NATIONAL" written on it. An additional support that holds the shanks together is located towards the center of the object. There is very little to no corrosion visible.
