DescriptionThis black and white photograph shows the reflection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in a rain puddle on the edge of the Jefferson Davis Highway in Lowndes County, Alabama. The photograph is taken only of the puddle and part of the road. In the middle is a blurry reflection of Dr. King walking mid stride from the knees up. The photograph has been turned upside down so that despite it being a reflection Dr. King still appears to be walking upright to the viewer. Behind Dr. King a cloudy sky can also be seen in the reflection. The puddle is jagged on the left side where the water has settled into tire tracks in the dirt. The bottom edge of the photograph barely shows part of the road.On View
