DescriptionThis pencil is a product of the Joseph Dixon Crucible Company, which was established by Joseph Dixon shortly after he made his first pencil in 1812. This carpenter pencil was produced in 1915 and sports a brown painted base, which has been withered away through time to reveal bits of the naked wood beneath. There are a couple lines of text on the flat face of the pencil which read "MADE IN/U.S.A.," "DIXON FRAMERS," "539-H" and "HARD," all in a white cracked paint.
