DescriptionThis object is a pair of medium-length hemostats with pointed, serrated jaws. Hemostats such as these are used during surgical operations to clamp shut blood vessels and control bleeding. A box hinge is located towards the center of the object, and two ring handles sit at the base of the two straight shanks. Initials "WD 8" are carved onto the side of one of the shanks above the hinge. Moderate to heavy levels of corrosion are visible across the object, especially around the hinge.On View
