DescriptionThis object is a Gelpi Retractor used to hold tissues apart during numerous different surgical operations. The object consists of two ring handles connected by a long locking ratchet, and two dramatically-curved jaws that end in perpendicular hooks. Closing the ring handles together results in the jaws making a large, semi-circular shape. "McDERMOTT" is stamped onto one of the shanks just above the hinge. Moderate levels of rust are visible around the hinge, with milder amounts of rust visible on the locking ratchet. On View
