DescriptionThis object is a pair of long-shanked forceps used to manipulate sponges or other bandage material during a surgical operation. The jaws consist of distinctive serrated circles that are affixed to the end of the shanks perpendicularly from the rest of the object. The jaws are slightly offset from the rest of the object. A medium-length locking ratchet is located between the two ring handles at the base. "SKLAR-STAINLESSU.S.A" is stamped onto the exterior of one of the shanks just above the hinge. There is very little to no visible corrosion on the object.
