The handle is slightly tapered in width towards the center of the object, and has vertical serrations along the edges along with thinner, herringbone serrations on the exterior side. A manufacturer's mark reading "A . M. LESLIE & CO. / ST. LOUIS." is located just above the serrations near the center of the handle. The operating arm has a slightly wider and rounded tip than the rest of the object. Corrosion is visible on the underside of the operating arm and within the serrations on the handle.
