DescriptionThis identification badge, constructed of paper, plastic, and ribbon, is associated with the Albuquerque Fire Department. The base color of the ribbon portion of the identification badge is off-white and reads, "35th Convention / of New Mexico / State / Firemens / Assn." in red, serifed lettering. Below this, the bottom portion of the ribbon portion showcases the location and date, reading "Carlsbad, N.M. / Sept. 21-23 / 1959" in the same red lettering. The top cream-colored paper of the badge reads, "W. A Westerfield Chief, Albuquerque, New Mexico," in black, courier-type lettering. Chief W. A. (Arthur) Westerfeld served as a firefighter in Albuquerque for forty-three years and was the head of the department for thirty-one years.
