DescriptionA studio portrait of William Henry Cobb and his daughter Daphne at his family photography shop, Cobb Studio, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Daphne is toddler age, wears a floral dress with a white ruffled collar, and her hair is pulled back from the face. William holds her in his lap, holding her around the waist. Daphne's arms are wrapped around his neck. They are cheek to cheek. William wears a dark velvet jacket, has a mustache, and his hair is cut short, parted to the side and swooped back. William Cobb and his wife, Eddie Ross Cobb, owned Cobb Studio spanning the turn of the nineteenth century in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico. They had four children, Daphne being the third born. After William's death due to tuberculosis in 1909, Eddie continued the business. Daphne eventually became the master finisher and developer, and managed the studio before her own death at 29 years old of tuberculosis.
