Description1. Alamogordo is in the center of a vast area of scenic beauty, recreational facilities, & historical interest. In southern N.M., it is a city where the past & the future have met. Tourist travel is big business in this area, in most ports of N.M., in fact. We will go into the Chamber of Commerce for our plans to visit Rocket City. +Locale of exploits of "Billy the Kid"
2. entering the Chamber of Commerce, we look at maps, booklets, a folder tell the wonders of Alamogordo: Health Resort, Missile Development, huge ranches, Holloman Air Force Base, Ruidoso Downs, Lincoln National Forest, etc. As it was late in the day, however, we decided on the White Sands National Monument.
3. After checking in at Alamo Courts, we headed at once toward the White Sand.
