DescriptionCentral Avenue in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico, looking southwest from Fourth Street. Both sides of the street are packed with vehicles and pedestrians walking along the various store fronts. Men in the photograph are dressed in suits and women are dressed in dresses. Buildings such as a drug store, Selvia Hotel, Woolworths, Federal Credit Clothing Store, Kistler Collister Co., National Systems Bank, Fogg Jeweler, and Montgomery Ward & Co., are visible from the point of view of the camera. A nine-story tall square building is also visible further away from the camera along the left side of the street.

Handwriting on the back reads, "Dear Mother, Well I am still here. I met a very nice young lady and we went horse back riding, had a great time out in the desert. Wish you were here don't know how long I will be here. Love Gene"
