DescriptionSmall wooden hope chest carved with large rosettes on the side and top of the lid. It has stamped metal hasp latch and hinges. The chest fits on top of a frame with four legs and supporting pieces of wood attached horizontally between the four legs. Carved on the underside of the lid is the name "Margarita." The furniture maker who made the chest stamped his name and the date three times on the inside of the chest: "Boleslo Gallegos/October 20, 1944."
