William Herbert Dunton

BiographyAs a boy W. Herbert Dunton worked as a ranch hand. He began his art studies at the Cowles Art School in Boston and briefly at the Art Students League. As a student of Joseph de Camp and E. L. Blumenschein, he soon learned about the attraction of Taos. In the summer of 1912, he opened his summer studio in Taos and was later invited to join in the formation of the Taos Society of Artists. In 1921 Dunton settled permanently in Taos.
