BiographyTully Marshall, born William Phillips, was an American character actor. Marshall started his acting career on the stage at the age of 18 in 1883. He played a variety of roles on Broadway starting in 1887. His film debut was in the 1914 film Paid in Full. He stared in a number of silent and sound films, including as John Wayne’s sidekick in the 1930 Western The Big Trail.
