DescriptionThis metal campaign pin features a base color of white, reading "Peace with honor" in blue lettering on the top portion of the button. Featuring "WILSON" in large red lettering, a smaller "Preparedness" is read in blue lettering in between the center. The bottom portion reads "Prosperity" in blue lettering. "Peace, Preparedness, and Prosperity" being a slogan associated with Woodrow Wilson's (1865-1924) 1916 re-election campaign symbolized Wilson's efforts to keep the nation out of WWI, keeping the peace, and encompassing economic prosperity. Wilson's win against Republican opponent Charles Evan Hughes (1862-1948) significantly impacted the U.S., notably having effects regarding relations with Mexico due to Wilson's foreign policy, labor and economic policies, and developing progressive support in the Southwest.
