DescriptionThis image depicts a close up of one of the steeples of the St. Augustine Church on the Isleta Pueblo located two miles south of Albuquerque, New Mexico on Highway 85. The church's roof is made of dark and light-colored wood. A large wooden cross can be seen on the steeple's point. Four small windows can be seen around the steeple’s base. The wooden steeple sits on a buttress made of light-colored adobe. A small wall can be seen at the base of the buttress on the right side of the frame. Two unidentified children sit on the wall. The older child is covered by a blanket and is holding a much younger child who appears to be crying. Beyond the wall, a single adobe building with sixteen chilie ristras hanging from the wall can be seen in the far background. The ground that is visible throughout the image is made of packed dirt.On View
