DescriptionAn Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway train derailment in New Mexico. Lumber and rails are strewn along the sides of the track. Men and horses gather, attempting to manage the derailment. There is a locomotive in the far left of the frame. Behind the locomotive, is a train car off the tracks and fallen to the side. A connection of three more cars is behind the empty space behind the derailed car. They are off kilter and have broken or open windows. One car reads, "...PACIFIC 163."

Silver mirroring and emulsion deterioration is occurring on the glass plate creating color distortion and emulsion loss.
