The man is seated, wearing a leather jacket and leather pants with fringe along the shoulders and side seams. He is wearing a wide-brimmed hat. His hair is chin length. The woman is standing to the left of the frame and wears a dark dress with a patterned shawl tied around her neck. dress is attached above one shoulder and there is a plaid long sleeve shirt beneath the one-shoulder dress. She has short hair. She is resting her left elbow on a pillar that holds a large ceramic pot. Both people are looking toward the camera.

The man sits on a woven blanket draping a bench. There is a Pueblo style pottery vessel propped behind them atop a fur.

Emulsion deterioration is occurring on the glass plate creating color distortion and emulsion loss.
