DescriptionGovernor Edmund G. Ross as an elderly man sits with his eldest daughter, Lillian Ross Leis, on doorsteps in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Edmund wears a felted, domed top hat, a single-breasted suit jacket, dark satin bowtie, slacks, and holds a cane in his right hand. Lillian sits one step below him and rests her right elbow on his knee. She also appears elderly, wears a dark gigot puffed, long-sleeved dress with a floral high collar, and wears circilar glasses. She holds white gloves in her lap. They both look off to the side. The steps they sit on lead to a wooden screen door on a white wood paneled building. A water tower and tress are behind a fence in the distance. Silver mirroring and emulsion deterioration is occurring on the glass plate creating color distortion and emulsion loss.
