DescriptionThis wooden child's chair, constructed with milled lumber, features a shell carving on the backing support portion of the piece. The seat is hand-planed. The open mortise and tenon construction is reinforced with wooden pegs. The chair's back legs are curved back at the seat and form posts, while the front legs are straight. The chair's back rails are mounted into posts, top and bottom. The bottom is plain, rectangular, and carved with double horizontal lines. The top encompasses curves at the top and is carved with fan-shaped front rails. The front stretcher bar is machine-turned and highlights a circular bar with wide ends and two cuts in the center. The side stretcher bars, as well as front and side rails, are carved with a double horizontal line.
