DescriptionA studio portrait of who has been identified as Fanny M. Lathrop Ross. She wears a floral long-sleeved dress with a V-neckline. The bodice is highly pleated and sinched and there is a bustle under the skirt. A layer of lace lines the neckline. Nestled into the neckline is a chain necklace with a simple heart pendent at the focal point. Her hair is straight, parted down the center and framing tightly around her face before being pulled back into a braided bun behind the head. She holds her hands together in her lap. She looks directly at the camera and does not smile.
Fanny M. Lathrop Ross was the wife of of the territorial governor of New Mexico, Edmund G. Ross.
The glass plate is highly scratched and emulsion deterioration is occurring causing loss.
