DescriptionA baby, Simpson "Sim" Miles, is propped up in a blanketed seat in the Cobb Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a portrait. Sim wears a light-colored dress with a cinched and ruffled neckline and wrist cuffs. Sim's hair is parted to the side. He holds a beaded chain in his lap and plays with it while resting in a fuzzy, satin trimmed blanket. Sim was the first born of Fannie Ross Miles, the youngest of territorial governor Edmund G. Ross's seven children.
Emulsion deterioration is occurring on the glass plate causing distortion and emulsion loss.
