DescriptionThis deck of souvenir playing cards from the 1934 Chicago World’s Fair, also known as A Century of Progress International Exposition, is housed in a two-piece cardboard box with a gold-tone exterior and a plain interior. The back design of each card features a graphic in red, white, and orange, depicting the fair’s logo and the words “1934 A Century of Progress Chicago.” The face cards display black-and-white photographs of various attractions and landmarks from the exposition, including the Adler Planetarium, the Sky Ride, and other architectural marvels. The Joker card features an image of “Giant Gorilla of the World, A Million Years Ago,” referencing a popular prehistoric-themed exhibit.
