DescriptionThis vintage powder box from 1934 features a red enamel exterior with gold-tone metal accents. Designed to be a stylish and portable cosmetic accessory, the hinged case opens to reveal a mirrored lid and a compartment for pressed powder, which has largely deteriorated over time. The interior shows signs of wear, with remnants of powder and discoloration visible on the mirror’s surface. The sleek, curved shape and bright color was a style popular in the early 20th century for its bold colors and streamlined forms. Produced in commemoration of the 1934 Chicago World's Fair.
