DescriptionThis stein is shaped like a tall cylinder with a widened base with a curved semi-circle handle on the side and a shallow domed pewter lid. The handle is connected to the lid via a metal hinge with a decorative thumb press on top. The handle is black with red dots lined up the center on both sides. The press is made of silver metal and has the face of a man with a large hat and collar along with swirl decorations engraved into it. When pressed down, the hinge lifts the lid open so the stein can be used. The rim of the lid is a silver metal, while the center is a cream ceramic. In the middle of the lid is a brown circle with white dots running along the edge, this serves has a border to the main image. The center image has a blue background, on top of this is a gold shield-like symbol with gold leaves and vines intertwined around it. Inside the shield is a red heart with a blue arrow pierced through it pointing downwards. The rim of the stein is white and has the symbol "1/2 L" engraved into it to show the volume of liquid the stein can hold. The upper and lower edges of the main body are decorated with a border that runs around the cup. The decoration is of green diamonds with white designs inside on an orange background, and there are also two green lines bordering this above and below. The bottom edge of the base is green, and the maker's mark for Villeroy & Boch, has well has the product number 1725 are engraved underneath. A colorful image makes up most of the main body and wraps around the entirety of the cup. The front shows an angel with a lute inside a blue and brown crest. The crest is bordered by a woman and a man in clothes reminiscent of the medieval era. On the left the woman wears a blue dress and a yellow head wrap has she holds out a pink rose towards the man. He is wearing a red outfit and is holding out a silver beer stein with the lid open towards the woman. They stand before a blue background, and behind each of them are green bushes and leaves.
