DescriptionThis object is a pair of hemostatic forceps with pointed, slightly curved, serrated jaws. Each shank and ring handle is made from one thick metal wire which terminates in a locking ratchet located between the handles. Hemostatic forceps such as this object are used during surgical procedures to clamp blood vessels shut or affix surgical materials such as wires and needles in place. Some light corrosion is visible on the locking ratchet and around the jaws of the object.
