DescriptionThis bronze commemorative brass pica pole was created for Frances Dolfin, a Society editor at the Albuquerque Journal in the 1970s, to use with newspaper design measuring and editing. The lowest part is taped over one corner with the initial FD for Frances Dolfin. The bottom is a curved semi-circle and the top contains another semi-circle with the manufacturer information. Each side of the top semi-circle has protruding edges on either side as well as a small circular hole in the center of the top. The pica pole measures picas as a typographic unit of measurement used in newspaper printing and this example contains 72 picas which equals 12 inches. On View
