DescriptionThis image depicts one of the petroglyphs at Petroglyph National Monument near Albuquerque, New Mexico. This carving has been made of a large piece of black volcanic rock. This particular carving has been done on the downward slope of the west mesa. The petroglyph looks like a four-pronged fork in the center with two square spirals branching out from it on either side. Beyond the glyph, a dirt pathway leads into the foothills of the mesa. In the far background, a portion of a residential area and a large section of the Sandia Mountains can be seen.On View
