DescriptionThis image depicts one of the petroglyphs at Petroglyph National Monument near Albuquerque, New Mexico. This carving has been made of a large piece of black volcanic rock. The petroglyphs here resemble a humanoid figure in a ceremonial headdress. Behind the carved rock, numerous other volcanic boulders can be seen covering the hill side. Various types of weeds and desert plants can be seen sticking up between the rocks throughout the photograph.
