DescriptionThe New Mexico Territorial Fair tug-of-war team and mascot pose outside W.C. Leonard & Company and A.J. Maloy Grocery on 214 West Railroad Avenue in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Member of the team stand in an arch on a paved sidewalk in matching outfits. They wear white pants and long-sleeve shirts with a "B" painted on the chest. The men have short hair slicked back and most have mustaches. The mascot is a child, around ten-years of age. He also wears the B-uniform and sits on the ground in a coil of rope at the center of the arch while holding a trophy. Three men in the arch wear slack suits and starched collars. One athlete wears a dark colored speed-o over white leggings instead of white trousers. A large group of male presenting onlookers is gathered behind the athletes on the sidewalk. Railroad Avenue's name was changed around 1908 to what is now Central Avenue. Central Avenue also overlaps with the historic Route 66.
