DescriptionStudio group portrait of the Albuquerque Maroons Champion Baseball Team of the Southwest 1891. The group is made up of twelve men, one boy, and one dog. The back row includes four standing men, three of them wear black suits, and the fourth in the middle wears a black baseball uniform and ball cap. The middle row contains seven men, all wearing black baseball uniforms and ball caps. In the front row are a boy, a man, and the dog. The boy and man are wearing uniforms and ball caps. The dog is light-colored with scraggly fur. Etched into the lower portion of the portrait are the names and roles of the men on the team (from left): Knight; Scott (right field); McCann (left field); Lockhart (umpire); Shannon (mascot); McCreight (sponsor); Rudolph (second base); Hagel (first base); Murry (short stop); Timmens (third base).
