DescriptionA highwire artist performs above the race track at the New Mexico Territorial Fairgrounds near the intersection of West Central Avenue and Rio Grande Boulevard in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Spectators watch from the grandstand and from the ground. Horse-drawn carriages are waiting in the foreground. The performer is hanging from a trapeze over the grandstand.

Railroad Avenue's name was changed around 1908 to what is now Central Avenue. Central Avenue also overlaps with the historic Route 66.

The glass plate the print is made from is broken on the top left corner, leading to image loss.
