10. Gran Quivira National Monument, of wheich we have had only a brief glimpse, stands as a memorial to the mission system which was to convert & Christianize the Indians. The Monumnet contains 21 ruined house mounds of Indian Pueblos & ruins of 2 mission churches -- earlier one, San Isidro, which this picture shows; and later larger one, San Buenaventura.
