Entre dos mundos: fotógrafos de Lee Marmon

30 Julio 2022 – 15 Enero 2023

Bennie Pacheco raised sheep near Laguna Village between Casa Blanca and Mushroom Rock. Chris Marmon remembers Bennie as being a quiet and pleasant individual and this is one of Lee Marmon’s favorite photographs. The image depicts how sheepherding is a long-established way of life in Laguna Village before and after the introduction of the railroad. Sheep climb into the shadow of the cliff representing how adaptation was one of the key aspects of twentieth-century life in Laguna Pueblo.
