Description“The Placita, Built in 1705, Albuquerque, New Mexico”. At the far left of the portal there is a sign painted on the wall next to a window which says “Bortell’s Studio”. This was apparently the photo studio for P. Clinton Bortell, a photographer of Indians and views who previously had a studio in Gallup. To the right of the window is another wall sign; it says “La Placita Coffee Shop. Mexican and American Dishes.” To the right of that sign is a door framed by two windows, apparently the entrance to the restaurant. At the far right of the portal, a peaked second story is above the street level building; it appears to have a tar roof.On View
