DescriptionThe magazine cover is an underwater-black and white photo of a woman in a bathing suit diving straight down into a pool. Her feet are pointed, her head and upper body are parallel with the bottom of the pool, and her palms are out by her sides and parallel with the bottom of the pool. In black lettering, the headline reads, "BALLET SWIMMER". In white letters on a red background is the title of the magazine: "LIFE". There is a red stripe across the bottom of the cover. Written in white letters on this red background, near the bottom righthand corner, is "AUGUST 27, 1945, 10 CENTS/BY SUBSCRIPTION: TWO YEARS $8.50"On View
