DescriptionThe magazine cover is a black and white photo of three children--from left to right, a girl and two boys--working together to hoist a sail on a sailboat. In white lettering, the headline reads, "JUNIOR SAILORS". In white letters on a red background is the title of the magazine: "LIFE". There is a red stripe across the bottom of the cover. Written in white letters on this red background, near the bottom righthand corner, is "AUGUST 6, 1945, 10 CENTS/BY SUBSCRIPTION: TWO YEARS $8.50"
