DescriptionThis colored map shows the area of the Mediterranean Sea that includes Greece and surrounding countries. The map has a frame around it that also serves as a scale. The regions of Greece shown are Epirus, Thessaly, Achaia, and Morea. In the upper left corner is the boot heel of Italy. To the right of this is Albania, then Macedonia. In the upper right corner is a strip of Romania. Along the right side of the map is Asia Minor. The Cyclades and the Island of Candia are also depicted. In the lower left corner, there is an illustration of a woman standing on a platform or dais. There is a stacked pyramid in front of her. She holds a stack of books in her right hand and what looks like a quill in her left hand. There is a frame below her, and in it it says, "A NEW & ACCURATE MAP/of the ISLANDS of the/ARCHIPELAGO,/together/wtih the MOREA, and the/Neighbouring Countries in/Greece &c./Drawn from the moft approved/Modern Maps & Charts,/& Regulated by [Astron Obserrat]/By Eman Bowen."
