DescriptionA group of five women and five men exiting the Hachiman Shrine in Sasebo, Japan. Four of the women are in traditional Japanese dress. One woman is dressed traditionally in white and is wearing a large white square head dress. One other woman and all five men are in western dress. The tall shrine has a triangular top and is very ornate. Two large pillars frame the entrance to the shrine and hold up a long curved cross-piece with a rectangular medallion in the center. There are ten steps leading up to the entrance. The shrine is located in Higashinohama-cho, in Sasebo, Japan.The photographer is N. Tateishi.
