DescriptionThe Navajo Drill Team of the White Shrine of Jerusalem (Masons) marches down a paved main street in a parade in front of an American Theatre. The group was a non-Indigenous women's club (ca. 1952-1968) from Albuquerque, New Mexico. The women are dressed in dark wigs and wear costumes resembling Diné dress and carry a drum and banner. A group marches closely behind in matching white uniforms waving flags, one of which is the American flag. Pedestrians line the sidewalk behind them and fill a balcony above, watching the procession pass.
