DescriptionBennett Hancock looks proudly toward an eleven-pound turnip that he grew behind his house in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is holding the turnip toward the camera with his right hand. Hancock wears eyeglasses and his hair is combed way from his face. The turnip has roots hanging from it. A newspaper caption pasted on the back of the photograph reads, "BENNETT HANCOCK of Albuquerque, N.M., proudly displays the 11-pound turnip that grew behind his home. The 14-year-old gardener said he believes a special type of fertilizer was responsible for the giant vegetable."On View
