DescriptionThis wooden and metal filing board, labeled “No. 2 Regular Shannon Compressor Cover” and part of the “Falcon Stationers’ Line,” was used for organizing loose-leaf papers. The board is rectangular with a striped wood grain pattern, and it features a sturdy metal clamp with two arched rings for securing documents. A printed chart on the attached cover provides spaces for recording document dates and categories. Filing boards like this were commonly used in offices, government agencies, and businesses to manage invoices, ledgers, and correspondence before the widespread adoption of digital record-keeping.
